As the diplomatic front office for Emory’s president and provost, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) promotes international outreach through events and programs, such as the Fulbright Program, and is responsible for coordinating key international policies and partnerships. OIA publishes international communications for Emory via the web and the magazine Emory in the World.

Under the leadership of the vice provost for International Affairs, OIA works in partnership with deans and directors of international units and faculty champions in all nine of Emory’s schools to develop and support international initiatives and strategic planning.

Two interdisciplinary university-wide institutes, The Claus M. Halle Institute for Global Learning and the Institute of Human Rights, are administered by OIA. Emory’s International Student and Scholar Programs (ISSP) is also under the OIA umbrella, as is the Confucius Institute (CI) in Atlanta which is a private-public-international partnership among Emory University, Atlanta Public Schools (APS), and Nanjing University.
